It requires equipment, applications and interpretation to be successful in any thermography application. Applications are using the equipment in the field, giving professionals credible temperature information important to objectives. The importance of proper application training can't be overstated because quality of life can be effected. The images below are a prime example of the amount of information lost because of an inexperienced team. The woman in the image below lost her mother to breast cancer, has had a sister with breast cancer and she turned to thermography for early detection. She went to an established clinic with international locations to have her breast images taken. The images were taken by a thermographer, reviewed by an MD and the report said there was slight asymmetries between breasts. She was told there was nothing to be alarmed about and to have the imaging repeated in 3 months. The female subject asked me to review the images and give her an opinion. Upon reading the report and viewing the images, I disagreed with the report. I asked to see the same image over a different span of temperature.

The thermographer taking the images had limited experience and passed those images on to a doctor with limited experience. A doctor, inexperienced in thermography would see mild asymmetries as presented when the reality shows a marked difference between breasts. I reported to the female subject that there was an inflammation located above her left areola and that turmed out to be a mass. The wire bra was worn until imaging and created the heat you see under the breasts.

Medical Applications are to allow the medical industry to see inflammation or lack of with portable, handheld infrared technology and advanced imaging applications. Forest fire imaging was completed to give fire fighters the ability to see through smoke, track thermal gradients and much more. California is experiencing wild fires and more homes burning. They are applying a very generic and limited infrared application with the use of the Predator in the air.
